Chris is the Executive Chairman of the Impact Investment Group of Companies focusing on delivering solutions for Impact Investors. The Group is focussed on impact investing that has commercial merit and is structured in a way that is investable from an institutional fund perspective. One of the main focusses of the Group is capital disaggregation between DFI funders and SMEs in order to bridge the gap between the minimum funding capital availability and the project capital demand. Previously, in a career in excess of 20 years, Chris was a Senior Financial Economist at Absa Capital and then the Chief Strategist at Investment Solutions. He had a brief stint at Standard Bank Wealth and Investment as their Global Market Strategist, after which he set up Impact Investment Africa. His main research focus was on the effects of economic and political factors on both South African and global financial markets. The implications of economic and political factors on investment performance and consequences for asset allocation and portfolio management was another key focus area. Chris has been a prominent commentator on market and economic issues and is a sought-after speaker at conferences where he has presented numerous papers both in South Africa and Internationally. In 2014, Chris co-authored a book entitled ‘Half Way There’ with Glenn Silverman, which outlined the findings of research trips made to the five BRICS countries, their relationships with the rest of the world, and the investment prospects from a long-term perspective. Chris is a former volunteer with St John Ambulance Brigade where he was the South African Commander.

Dave’s love for “everything African” expanded his investment background into interests such as coaching young South Africans in financial literacy, financial well-being and expanding their small businesses in profitability, capacity, and scale. In 2016/17 Dave was instrumental in establishing the Affinity Enterprises Employee Investment Programme. With over 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector, Dave previously played a significant role within Sanlam Private Wealth and Merrill Lynch South Africa, advising prominent South Africans on their listed equities portfolios. In 2003 he founded Lampstand Investments (FSP334) focusing exclusively on the South African gold sector and leveraged off the gold bull market up to 2010. He combines investment experience with a passion to see young people, especially small business owners flourish and has enjoyed all aspects of venture capital investing through his Section 12J offerings (S12J VCC-0135. Namely IMPACT EMPOWERMENT VENTURE PTY LTD). Dave has been part of the Impact Investment Group of Companies since 2018 and has fulfilled the role of Managing Director. Dave’s motto currently: Hard things, we do immediately, impossible things……well, they take a little longer.

Riel has more than thirty years of experience in all aspects of Human Resources and general business operations – from junior level to Director. He has developed and implemented business and Human Resources strategies for South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, DRC and Malawi. In the 80s, he worked for Barloworld Equipment where he held various positions within Human Resources. The training academy he founded for Barloworld Equipment was rated second best in the Caterpillar Group. He established a business branch in Lobito in Angola which was successful to the point that it broke even in its second year of trading. He established a successful technical training centre in Luanda, Angola, to align the development of skills for the growth of the business. He played an instrumental role in setting up one of the first provident funds for disadvantaged people and the development of expatriate and Human Recourses policies. During the 1994 elections, he was seconded as Monitoring Director to the IEC in the Northern Province. Since starting at the Impact Investment Group in June 2018, he has added great value to the South African executive team and is a member of various investment committees within the group.

Peter, is a Botswana national and resident with more than 16 years of experience as a finance executive and certified public accountant, spent chiefly in the banking the FMCG industries. He has lead and advised corporations through their international expansion and reconciling capital supply with demand plans. He brings experience in risk management, with strong expertise and a background in business intelligence, finance systems, business process transformation and project management. Over the years he has developed skills in structuring and negotiating transactions within the commercial banking environment.

Mr K, as he is affectionately known, dedicated many of his younger years in the Botswana military. He has always been closely involved in farming and agriculture focussing on animal husbandry, sorghum, and maize. Mr K identified the need to get Botswana food self-sufficient and has worked tirelessly on encouraging Batswana to buy Batswana. Mr K has spent the better part of his building good relationships between businesspeople, (the private sector) and the ruling political party in Botswana, namely the BDM. His mantra is, “Botswana is open for business, come and see for yourself!

Royce Martin, Alexander Forbes Financial Services and Vickers & Peters Financial Planning are some of the corporates Harriet added huge value to before joining the Impact Investment Group of Companies in 2020. She is passionate about sharing her expertise and experience.

Zethu has an extensive amount of experience in the Financial Services Industry having worked for several well-known Corporates such as First National Bank, Sanlam, and Rand Mutual Assurance. He has successfully completed the FAIS Representative and the Key Individual’s Regulatory Exams. In the Impact Investment Group, he has fulfilled several different roles over the past two years that have added to his wealth of knowledge and experience. Within the Sales division of the group, he has done valuable work in Key-client Relationship Management; Market Analysis, as well as Portfolio Analysis. He joined the Impact Investment Group of Companies as a Business Development Consultant. His experience in the industry testifies to his professional philosophy of appreciating all the facets of business. He brings a unique element to the Group and has already added to the growth of the company. During this time, he has shown great strength in the Sales area and was appointed as a Business Development Officer, where he is determined to calve out a niche for himself. Loyiso is an Information Technology Professional, People Strategist and Entrepreneur. Although primarily trained as a Computer Engineer, his passion for social entrepreneurship and his keen sense of wonder for new experiences across the globe have led him to develop an exceptional ability to relate with people in multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environments, with sensitivity and respect for diversity. His background coupled with his experience in entrepreneurship & digital solutions consulting is what makes Loyiso uniquely suited to his role as the Business Development Consultant in the Impact Investment Group of Companies. Loyiso has been responsible for building, fostering, and maintaining positive and professional relationships with stakeholders, in a manner that aligns with the company’s core values and strengthens both internal and external relationships to boost overall brand perception and bottom-line sales since 2019. Prior to joining the Impact Investment Group of Companies, Loyiso worked on various community-based initiatives, including the establishment of a thriving farm operating successfully since 2014. He was also involved in many collaborative projects on a national scale of up to (800+ users). He continues to seek opportunities to utilise his technical skillset as Software Developer, Data Analyst & SAP BI Business Systems Engineer to add value to community-focused projects, in a bit to transform the lives of the ordinary South African, Africa and the world at large – wherever possible. Her role at Impact will involve representing the Group and assist in growing the brand.

Trystan is a BCom Finance degree graduate from the University of Johannesburg and has a post graduate diploma in Financial Management. He is currently doing his honours in Investment Management and would like to pursue his CFA and CIMA qualifications. Trystan joined the Impact Investment Group of Companies in January 2021 as an intern and has recently been made permanent to learn and pursue a career in Investment Management. He believes in making a difference in people’s lives when it comes to managing finances in the best possible way and therefore creating wealth, hence choosing to go the Impact Investing route.
