RUDF
Rural & Urban Development Foundation
The Rural and Urban Development Foundation was founded in 2022, with the aim of using the available economic opportunities or projects as catalysts for positive change in marginalized communities. What differentiates us is the coordination of the teaming up of diverse parties to form an ecosystem of organisations and skilled individuals dedicated to sustainable development and social upliftment.
Overview
Part of the mission of the foundation is to assist with addressing the immediate community needs that have been identified across the country. Our strategic partners have programmes that are ready for rollout in schools and crèches:
- Panda Pads: locally manufactured reusable sanitary pads that keep girl learners in school during their menstrual cycles
- Rise Against Hunger Africa: prepacked nutritious meals
- Kindle Knight Movement: “serving humanity in the hour of need”, incl. a feeding scheme
Key initiatives: The Foundation is currently involved in a housing project and hospital construction in the Eastern Cape. The plan is to build houses and relevant local amenities and roll out hospitals in the Eastern Cape, followed by construction in other provinces.
About the Foundation
Vision
To be advocates and implementers of initiatives that result in self empowered and self sustained rural and urban communities.
Mission
To develop sustainable communities by way of creating meaningful vocations, which in turn lead to economic empowerment and social upliftment.
Strategic Objective
We are committed to the facilitation of the inclusion of our marginalised communities into the mainstream of our society, and the installation of family values and the eradication of the curse of gender violence. The emancipation of women in the workplace is central to the creation of this equality.
